Buddhist Conference includes NDE Research PDF Print E-mail

December 2008, a very interesting Buddhist conference called Closer-to-Reality: Understanding Death and Beyond was held at the Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Together with Buddhist Bardo Teachings on afterlife states, the conference also included sessions about Near-Death Experiences and Out-of-Body Experiences in an attempt to “connect real life experiences with Buddhist scriptural understanding.”

Death and what lies beyond has generated countless questions that has fascinated humanity throughout the ages, evoking diverse answers from great teachers and spiritual guides. Surely such an intriguing topic deserves a modern platform for clarification.

By including the field of Near Death Experiences, the Closer-to-Reality Conference 2008 has provided such a platform and opened for a dialog between open-minded Buddhist and research into NDEs.
